Role Summary:
A Security Engineer handles the digital security for our clients. Duties include building digital security protocols, operating a cyber security system, and maintaining an IT security infrastructure for our clients’ organizations.
About Us:
Our main HQ is located in Downtown Los Angeles. This position is available for remote work. Like with any IT-related position, on occasion, you will be required to stay after hours or come in on weekends but we try to keep such work to a minimum.
Position Responsibilities:
- DAILY time entry accounting for at least 8 hours
- Develop, execute, and track the performance of security measures to protect information and network infrastructure and computer systems.
- Design computer security strategy and engineer comprehensive cybersecurity architecture.
- Identify, define, and document system security requirements and recommend solutions to management.
- Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain security infrastructure software and hardware.
- Install software that monitors systems and networks for security breaches and intrusions.
- Monitor systems for irregular behavior and set up preventive measures.
- Plan, develop, implement, and update the company’s information security strategy.
- Educate and train staff on information system security best practices. Takes ownership of tasks and follows through to ensure complete resolution
- Takes a personal interest in, and responsibility for, the quality of work they perform or are associated with
- Ability to provide accurate time estimates for how long a task will take
- Understands that the success of individuals is measured by the success of their teams
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies through the use of self-study materials and intuition
- Ability to articulate technical information clearly and simply to non-technical people

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proven experience developing, operating, and maintaining security systems
- Extensive knowledge of operating systems and database security
- Proficiency in networking technologies, network security, and network monitoring solutions
- Knowledge of security systems including anti-virus applications, content filtering, firewalls, authentication systems, and intrusion detection and notification systems
- In-depth knowledge of security protocols and principles
- Critical thinking skills and ability to solve complex problems
Credentials and Experience:
- Engineer with four or more years of experience
- Minimum 2 years work experience as a System Security Engineer or related position
- Has at least one certification related to security. CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP
- Solid, dependable engineer, follows directions and maximizes billing opportunities
- Consistently receives good client feedback
- Ability to track, manage, and ensure project tasks are completed in a timely manner
