Associate Project Manager – Solar Development & Construction

Role Overview
The Associate Project Manager (APM) supports the Project Management Office (PMO) across all phases of solar project development and construction. This role assists with administrative coordination, safety compliance, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and reporting to ensure projects advance efficiently from development through construction, closeout, and energization.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to grow within solar project management.

What You’ll Do
Safety & Compliance
- Champion safe work practices and ensure compliance with the company Injury and Illness Prevention Plan.
- Coordinate with contractors to provide, review, and maintain site-specific safety plans.
- Assist the PMO team with Job Safety Analysis (JSA) audits at active job sites.
Project Coordination & Execution Support
- Support PMO collaboration with procurement, financing, accounting, and other internal teams to ensure seamless material and resource flow.
- Assist in the preparation, tracking, and submission of project deliverables with permitting agencies, utilities, site hosts, design professionals, and internal controls.
- Help manage resource allocation, scheduling, contracting, budgeting, and quality control across all construction phases.
Risk, Schedule & Budget Management
- Support project risk management across scope, schedule, budget, safety, and quality throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain and monitor project schedules, budgets, RFIs, submittals, and other key deliverables to achieve milestones and performance metrics.
- Assist with smooth project closeouts, including testing, commissioning, QA/QC documentation, and final energization.
Reporting & Controls
- Prepare and support regular project reporting, including weekly updates, look-ahead schedules, critical path analyses, milestone projections, and work-in-progress reporting.
- Assist with RFP and subcontracting processes, including scope development, estimates, contracts, and deliverables.

- Set up projects based on leadership standards.
- Ensure commitments, submittals, and documentation are accurately entered and maintained.
- Portfolio & Process Optimization:
- Right-size the existing project portfolio to align with evolving standards and initiatives.
- Budgeting & Procurement Support:
- Assist with equipment quotes and submittal procurement.
- Ensure commitments are properly entered in Procore and Sage.
- Maintain cost repositories and support ROM budgeting models.
- Smartsheet Management:
- Manage pre-FNTP portfolios and task checklists.
- Ensure all pre-integration and pre-construction tasks are accounted for and tracked.

Education & Experience Requirements
- Experience using Procore (required).
- Experience with project scheduling software:
- Smartsheet (preferred)
- MS Project, Primavera, or Phoenix (acceptable)
- Proficiency in Excel and MS Office.
- 2+ years of relevant experience or an applicable four-year degree.
